Elissa and Fritz chose the incredible 5 star luxury Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria in the heart of Sorrento for their September wedding. This incredible property has been owned and run by the Fiorentino family since 1834 and has hosted an array of artists, politicians, celebrities and socialites (to include Richard Wagner, Oscar Wilde, Luciano Pavarotti, Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren) thanks to its exclusive style, elegance and outstanding service levels.
The ceremony took place on the Royal Terrace, overlooking the bay of Naples, with breath-taking views of Mt. Vesuvius and the Sorrento Peninsula – a truly incredible setting in which to exchange their vows. Elissa decided to surprise her husband with personalised vows in Welsh which added to the emotion of the ceremony, whilst the violinist and cellist provided a romantic background acoustic accompaniment.
Champagne and canapés followed for their guests on the Vittoria Terrace, whilst the newlyweds snuck off with their very talented photographer Teresa C for photographs in and around the immaculately tended grounds of the hotel.
The ornate Vittoria Room – adorned with frescoes and antiques – was the setting for the wedding breakfast. The five course banquet featured a risotto with aged parmigiano reggiano cheese and tartufo and beef fillet to name but two of the courses; washed down with a fine array of Italian wines. No one was to expect what was to follow as the speeches came to a close, when two waiters in disguise from the world renowned act the ‘Three Waiters’ unexpectedly burst into song, much to the delight of all of the guests! A wonderful wedding surprise organised by the Father of the Bride.
The wedding party moved back to the Royal Terrace for the cutting of the cake and first dance and they all danced the night away in style!
Thanks to Elissa and Fritz for letting us be a part of your incredible day.
