Lynn and David chose the incredibly romantic Cloisters of San Francesco in the centre of Sorrento as the location for their wedding ceremony, followed by a luxury reception at the 5 star Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria.
The weather was beautiful, with the sun shining brightly as the preparations began in the Grand Hotel La Favorita, with the bride and bridal party having hair and makeup expertly done by the very talented Jimena Puy. Lynn chose a beautiful Ian Stuart gown, complimented perfectly with shoes by Jimmy Choo.
The 14th Century San Francesco Cloisters, in the heart of Sorrento, is an idyllic venue adjacent to the baroque San Francesco church. As guests gathered and awaited the bride’s arrival, they soaked up the atmosphere and acoustics of the accompanying string quartet. After exchanging their wedding vows and subsequently being showered with fresh rose petals on their exit from the Cloisters, Lynn and David snuck off with their photographer Francesco Quaglia to capture some magical shots in some of Sorrento’s prettiest locations. In the meantime their guests enjoyed a prosecco reception at the nearby Circolo dei Forestieri.
The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria was the couple’s choice for their luxury wedding reception and guests were welcomed to the hotel on the breath-taking Vittoria Terrace, enjoying champagne and canapés. Founded in 1834 and family-owned for five generations, the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria exudes luxury and is perched on a cliff in Sorrento, enjoying unrivalled views across the Bay of Naples. After the aperitif the wedding party enjoyed a five course banquet in the famous Vittoria room with frescoed ceilings and beautiful authentic nineteenth century wall decoration. After dinner the newlyweds cut their impressive five tier wedding cake and then enjoyed dancing the night away to the music of Marco’s band; a four piece acoustic live band featuring guitar, double bass, drums and sax.
